Moog Grandmother :: Semi-Modular Analog Synth

Posted on May 18 2018

If you're an analog junky like we are here at Soul Surplus, you've probably heard the good news about the new Grandmother Synth, by Moog. We'll let Moog inform you on what the Grandmother is, and why we're anxious to get our hands on one...

"The Grandmother is a semi-modular analog synthesizer with a built-in arpeggiator, sequencer and spring reverb tank. Start playing immediately with “no patching required”, and then explore an infinite sonic playground with Grandmother’s reconfigurable front panel. Grandmother’s circuits, spring reverb, and spirit are inspired by the classic Moog Modular Synthesizers, making this instrument a powerful addition to a Mother-32, DFAM or any Eurorack modular system." - Moog

If you're familiar with our sound, or purchased any one of our sample packs, you know that Moog synths are a staple in how we create compositions. We even featured the Moog Opus and Minotaur (almost exclusively) in the Synth Pack Volume 1. At the present moment, the Grandmother is sold out (sold exclusively at Guitar Center), but expect to hear the sounds from this awesome synth in future sample packs, sooner than later.  In the meantime, check out these specs, and take a few minutes to watch these videos to get a more in-depth view of what to expect.
